By Admin news November 30, 2016

December 2 and 3, 2016 at 9 in the room Jerzy Turowicz at the headquarters of the Batory Foundation at ul. Sapieżyńska 10a in Warsaw, there will be a scientific conference "License for security" organized by the Society of Legal Initiatives and Criminalistics Section 22, whose members are two employees of our office. Kancelaria Adwokacka Attorney Piotr Stączek is the patron of the conference.
The event will be divided into two parts: an expert and a doctoral student. Their common denominator will be the issue of broadly understood security of people in everyday life. Consciously ignoring the issues of state security and combating global threats, we will focus on occupational, family and personal security. We will examine, among others subject of crime aimed at specific age groups or social groups, threats related to using the Internet or making risky transactions. We will emphasize prevention and counteracting threats, while not ignoring ways to minimize their possible consequences.

The legal situation of citizens after the British appearance from the European Union

By Admin news June 23, 2016

In connection with the outcome of the referendum held on 23 June 2016 on the continued membership of Great Britain in the European Union (colloquially Brexit ), there are many questions about the legal situation of citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Pursuant to art. 20 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, a citizen of a Member State of the European Union is at the same time a citizen of the European Union. If the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland actually leaves the European Union, its citizens will lose their status as citizens of the European Union. Will this affect all citizens of the United Kingdom? Those of them who have Polish ancestors may use the procedure of confirming Polish citizenship if their ancestors for various reasons did not lose it. By confirming Polish citizenship, these people will also acquire additional citizenship of the European Union.
If you are wondering if you have Polish citizenship and would like to use the Polish citizenship confirmation procedure, we can dispel your doubts. analysis of the estate is free.

Mobbing at universities

By Admin news May 17, 2016

Every person who feels a victim of mobbing , that is, behavior that constitutes a long-lasting and onerous persecution by colleagues or superiors, has the opportunity to apply for protection of their rights - this also applies to those who work in environments not usually associated with this type of practice.Nowadays, mobbing is more and more often not only in professions with which it is habitually associated (eg among employees of large corporations or people performing simple, undemanding work) and its symptoms can be found in virtually every industry. According to recent reports, mobbing is also present at universities - its victims are young researchers as well as professors with many years of experience. The most common types of such practices include, among others unannounced pick-up of classes or change of their schedule, commissioning ungrateful or time-consuming jobs or hindering the development of a scientific career.

Dieting drivers

By Admin news February 17, 2016

Claims for the payment of additional remuneration components for drivers traveling on international trips (diets, lump sums) are a frequent subject of litigation between the employee and the employer. These issues have always been the subject of a lot of controversy (in particular as regards the possibility of requesting a lump sum payment in a situation in which a place in the vehicle cabin was provided) in the light of national and international (including EU) regulations. In order to unify the interpretation and remove any doubts, these issues will be examined in the near future by the Court of Justice of the European Union and by the Polish Constitutional Court. The judgments issued by each of them may have a significant impact on the dispute party's situation regarding the payment of allowances and lump sums - common courts conducting these cases often decide to suspend proceedings while awaiting a binding settlement. At the current stage, filing a lawsuit for payment of overdue amounts due to per diems and lump sums may therefore be risky, but on the other hand - legal uncertainty does not stop the running of the limitation period. We advise you to ask the court to file an amicable settlement against the employer, who may default on payments - in this way, at a relatively low cost, we can secure our claims for an additional three years.
